I have a crush.
Her name is Peggy.
She blogs at Cake Crumbs and Beach Sand. She has Finnish heritage. She once baked me an apple cake because I asked her to.
We have never met.
Peggy’s blog is pure delight. It is pretty, it is heart-meltingly well-written, and Peggy is a powerhouse of wisdom, love and smarts. She recently took charge of her life, ditching a couple of days of her relentless work schedule to free up time to follow her dreams. And she has been wonderfully successful in doing so, now finding her new hobby has turned into a viable income. Isn’t that what we all hope for? That our passion not only fulfils us, but is useful financially?
I wish my passion for reading was useful financially.
Peggy has also written a wonderful eBook called The Self-Love Guide for the Working Mum. Because we get a little guilt-ridden at times. We overcompensate. Peggy implores us to nurture yourself as a human first, and then give from a full cup to your family. I whole-heartedly agree… I might only be new to this mum thing, but I know I’m a better mum when I feel as though I’ve got my head on straight and I’m making sure my needs are met too. Most of the time! It is a wonderful read and helpful if you feel a bit frazzled and overstretched.
Peggy is the shiznit. Especially because she delved deep into her childhood to find a cookbook from which to bake me this cake, which I in turn baked for myself. You can find the recipe here. But you won’t find any cake at my house because I ate it all. Even for breakfast once. Because self-love sometimes means Finnish apple cake.
What is your passion you’d like to see turn into reality?
