Congratulations entrant number 140 – Michael! You win!
Aw man, do I have a fun giveaway for you or WHAT! You might remember a hundred years ago, Cycle Style and I gave away the CUTEST kid’s bike basket in all the land. Currently ours is housing 12 vintage My Little Ponies until we get a proper bike, but we can’t wait to see our girls tooling around with that on the front.
Anyway, today we’ve teamed up again to bring you $500 worth of accessories that should get your butts out of your cars and onto your bikes – in style!
So let’s have a look, shall we?
2 x Nutcase helmets: Fun graphics on sturdy helmets for those of you who are a bit over black or are too old for Dora. $90 each.
Mint green laptop satchel pannier: Carry your goods in style with a pannier by Poland’s Bike Belle! This bright satchel pannier is handmade in Poland using durable water-repellent material. It features leather straps and metals hooks for the rear rack or front carrier and when you”re off the bike you can carry it using the handle or detachable, adjustable shoulder strap. The bag will fit a laptop up to 17” and comes with a removable padded laptop sleeve. $70
Pandan handlebar bike basket: Go shopping on your bike with a basket made from environmentally friendly pandan.Baskets made from natural fibers have been used for thousands of years and are typically not as resource intensive as petroleum-based man-made fibers. Pandan is a sustainable fast growing grass and the bag has been coloured with natural dyes. $40.
Classic chrome bell: A classic chrome plated supreme quality “ring” bicycle warning bell, to alert pedestrians of your approach! Keeps both rider and other road users safe. Bell diameter 6cm. Comes in a nicely designed box. $10.
Chairman Backpack: This sophisticated office backpack has a padded compartment for a notebook computer and external and internal pockets so that your keys, wallet and phone won’t get lost in the mix. Going to work on your bike has never been easier or more stylish! $90.
2x Cycle Sign Strap: Cycle Signs are made from the offcuts of reflective road signs used by Australian designer Trent Jansen to create his Sign Stools. Australian design blog The Design Files, described them as “simple but genius”.Cycle Signs are available in two versions, a spoke clamp and a strap. The strap is designed to simply wrap around the seat post or front tube of a bicycle. In keeping with the reused nature of this project, the strap is cut from old bicycle tubes, making the felt padding the only new material used in the manufacture of these reflectors. $10 each.
2x Cycle Sign Spoke: As above, but clampy, not strappy! $20 each.
Disco Bright Reflective Legwarmers: Dashing Tweeds’ very cool 100% wool reflective legwarmers have been bestsellers in the UK and now Australian cyclists can get their hands on them too! They’re super-warm, very funky and best of all the ends have been knitted with reflective 3M yarn so it’s perfect visibility accessory when you’re riding home late at night. $50.
