GIVEAWAY: Win a Four Cow Farm Baby Care Gift Pack {and Discount!} / ended

October 22, 2014 by Stacey 32 Comments

Four Cow Farm

When one of my littles was born (I’m sure it was the second one, but everything is a bit of a blur), she received a little pack of Four Cow Farm products from a family friend. I thought it was such a thoughtful gift, especially because the products were all natural and handmade on an Australian green energy family farm.

Every single product is still made by hand on that Queensland farm, overseen every day by “Nanna”, the midwife, mum and grandmother who started it all. Her suppliers are all Australian, and every single ingredient is premium food-grade, making them very safe for everyone in the family. The products are also free from parabens, sulfates, artificial fragrances, synthetic detergents, petrochemicals, mineral oils, lanolin, chlorinated water, phalates, and other stuff I’ve never heard of before.

I kept buying the products once our first lot ran out, and I got a little bit addicted to using the baby oil in my nightly bath during winter! A good addiction though, my skin was so soft. When I heard their story, I loved them even more.

The products are also all totally biodegradable and all packaging is 100% recyclable. I’m told even the water that goes into the products is fresh rainwater collected and purified on the farm – it’s a whole family company with whole environment ideals.

Even better – three of you will win a lovely little gift pack from Four Cow Farm, consisting of a Starter Pack of their popular products, and a beautiful Pohnpei Sponge, which is hand-grown and sustainably farmed in the amazing waters of Pohnpei Island in Micronesia.

All you have to do is leave a comment and tell us what was your favourite baby gift? (My other favourite was a Wee Amigo swaddle).

Entries close Wednesday October 29, at midnight Melbourne time. Entries will be judged on merit, as this is a game of skill and not chance.

Four Cow Farm has also very generously given VM readers a 10% discount on all sales – just head to their website and use the code FCFVEGGIE at the checkout. It expires 30/11/14. Get your Christmas presents sorted!

Good luck!

Never heard of these guys, but they sound right up our alley! Particularly as you’re still using the products, so obviously, they work. I’ve tried so many different natural products with my kids over the years, and the trial and error in finding something that works gets expensive. Thanks for the introduction!

Favourite gift? A little left of centre, but hands down, it’s been a cleaner. With each baby, my mum has hired a cleaner for four weeks and it’s been such a blessing!

My two littlest bubs have had fussy skin, the lady has had the worst, so I’ve tried so many different things. I wish I’d heard about this stuff sooner- it sounds perfect!

As for gifts…. The two littlest have received so many handmade gifts – blankets, rugs, clothes – that I adore & know I’ll never be able to part with. The big two? It was so long ago I can’t even remember ! I’m a terrible mother…

Ooooh I love great, natural baby lotions and potions! After my first was in bloody special care for a month, I learned quickly that place is shit for skin! I came outta there looking like a grandma! If only I knew this stuff was around back then! We were all moo goo. Without a doubt my fave baby gift was a box set of Annabel Trends Mary Jane socks. O.m.g. Socks that doubled as shoes? And cool shoes at that? I die. Girls’ gotta accessorise and all. They lasted both my girls throughout nearly their first 2 years of life- socks that can last 4 years of baby? Winning. We had plenty of beautiful and functional gifts, but fashion got me in the end. I’m a shallow sucker.

Our girls are 8 and 9 yo so the baby years seem like many light years away yet same days, they feel like only yesterday…….
My favourite gift was we had our 2nd bub and the mums from my mums group went to our house and cleaned and baked for our return. They got the keys from hubby and just went for it. I was in hospital for 2 weeks and bub was in for 3 weeks before she was released as she was an emergency s-section at 35.5 weeks – our eldest was only 1 yo so I had 2 bubs to look after –
I will never forget their generosity, kindness and love I received from these wonderful women. We are now scattered far and wide across this great nation and one overseas, as life has taken us to different places but we all meet up in randomly and keep touch to remember the days when our kids we just wee little bubs. We just pick up where we left off.
I don’t think I could of survived without these amazing women in my life – the laughs the wines and memories we share are what keep us connected through time and space.
I would love to win and gift this prize to my sister who has baby number 5!!! Little Lando (yes his dad is a star wars nut) – I don’t know how she does it

The best gift we received for our little one was bouncer chair. Honestly being a first time mum I was not sure of where to put bub when I needed a break. Bingo the chair which also vibrates and helps to let her sleep. The pressie came at three weeks and by this stage I don’t think I had put bub down during the day at all. So it was nice to go and have a cuppa hands free. I have been searching for baby products that are eco friendly and Australian made. Now that we have started solids there is hair to wash.

The best gift we received for our little ones were ones that were hand made, and better still hand made by the person giving the gift. There is a certain amount of love and warmth that goes into these precious gifts that seems to ever linger. A favourite of these hand made gifts is a beautiful little cloth dolly (called dolly) who my two and a half year old little one has with her constantly, through playtime, meals, outings and sleep time. She has started blaming dolly for the naughty things that two year olds do and yesterday I caught her giving dolly a set of face tattoo. It’s hard to get too upset with her when she was only expressing her creativity this way and dolly so very much wanted a tattoo 🙂

Oh you’ve sucked me in with the discount code I have crap luck anyway. But might as well play along. Aside from the cleaning and cooking (and those nice breast cold pack things- from a particularly well informed friend) my favourite gift was an intricate knitted blanket from my hubby’s aunt (Scottish lace knit-v fancy). She spent two months on the heirloom but insisted it was an everyday blanket. It felt so special to wrap up my bundle in something so lovingly made. And it was cream so hid the baby puke perfectly.

Don’t put me in for the comp cos my babies are all huge and hairy now but my favourite present was from my elderly baby sitter at the time and it was a handmade, apricot silk and lace shirred dress for my baby daughter. After four boys it was the perfect gift. It was so feminine and old fashioned I just loved it. I still have it eighteen years later.

    Those products sound divine!
I got a tortellini cushion for my first, which is a cushion in a crescent moon shape that can be secured together at the ends so it looks kinda like a tortellini, and can be used as a feeding pillow or a place to prop bub up in when they are still immobile. Now with my second, I’m still using the cushion, as a back support while I’m feeding. Plus, it’s all colourful and pretty. I love that damn cushion so much!

The usual flowers, teeny-tiny baby outfits, toys and books were adorable and certainly appreciated. But what I appreciated most of all in the days and weeks after the birth of my first born was a hamper from a friend with three kids. The hamper contained all the things I never knew I’d need (until I needed them, in a hurry, at midnight!) – baby panadol and nurofen; a thermometer (the good kind for a tiny baby ear with a mute function); a nose sucker to clear tiny newborn nasal passages; baby nail clippers; and the list went on… The ultimate thoughtful gift for a first time mum!

We’d only been living in our house for only a short time when our third son was born. Our next door neighbour made a beautiful, blue, crochet blanket for him. It was my favourite gift by far because there was so much thought and care that went into it (when there’s not much fuss made for baby number three who’s “another boy”). He sleeps with that rug every night.

I would love to win this for my friend’s new grandson who was born not quite a week ago and is in intensive care. Poor wee boy not having the best start in life, he could do with some TLC products. When my baby was born 19 years ago a friend bought me an advent bottle, completely changed my life at the time. I can’t imagine what my friends daughter is going through so I would love yo give the family a lovely suprise.

I haven’t had our first baby yet (34 weeks pregnant!), nor many gifts because our family is small, but my favourite gift by far has been a onesie sent from my best pal in America – a tiny, brightly-coloured, tie-died onesie. My husband was a bit appalled by the sheer level of hippie. I love it! 😀

I haven’t had my first baby yet (34 weeks pregnant!), or many gifts, but my definite favourite has been one sent to me by a bestie in the United States: a onesie. A tiny, ecstatically-coloured, tie-died onesie. My husband was a little appalled by all the ‘hippie’. I love it, though! 😀

(Not sure if my first try at commenting went through, but it doesn’t look like it did. Apologies if you get two!)

Sooo technically I’ve never been given a baby gift because I’m not a mum. BUT I am about to be an aunty for the first time so would LOVE to win this pack for my beautiful sister who has struggled with many pregnancies in the past. She is obsessed with natural products and I know would adore this gift pack 🙂

We live in Northern QLD a long way from any of family. My cousin & I had our babies two months apart ~ the first in our family. Our boys were suppose to be four months apart but due to complications our little braveheart came into our lives early! He was so early that I did not even have a hospital bag packed for me or baby. I ended up in the ICU & bubba as well…so it was a little hard to organise anything. My gorgeous husband went between two ICU’s so he didn’t leave the hospital {it became a running joke ~ are you wearing that again!}. After four days of doing this on his own, a familiar face appeared at the hospital. My cousin had flown all the way from regional Victoria to come help {with her bubba in tow}. They set up our nursery, packed a hospital bag & bought all the baby stuff that our bubba would need once he & I left ICU. Even after all that she did for us the best present that she gave me was a knitted blanket with my son’s name on it ~ his name means braveheart & seeing as both he & I fought so hard to still be here it is my favourite present ever {because I love his name & the meaning}. My cousin knew exactly how much his name meant to my husband & I so for her to take the time to organise such a present was a magical gesture. The blanket will forever represent the kindness & love & hope my husband & I felt in a period of our lives that for a fleeting moment was a very dark moment.
