Nine years

November 3, 2016 by Stacey 10 Comments

veggie mama weddingNine years ago yesterday, Lunchbox and I got married.

I kind of felt old at the time (I was 27) but now I look around and realise in this day and age, that’s pretty young! I guess I’m still sandwiched in that generation between now and the one where you got married by 22 or you were unceremoniously dumped on the spinster shelf while your mother quietly wrung her hands and married ladies looked at you with sympathy in the street.

I often say that my marriage is the easiest thing about my life, and it’s true. I married a good man and we work well together. I’m grateful every day that out of the 7.5 billion people in the world, he chose me. I think he feels the same way. This makes for a good combination.

We were engaged after 18 months (remind me to tell you the engagement story one day, it’s awesome) and I knew even that early on that it was the right decision. We married nine months later, and nine years after that, I still agree with 26-year-old me. High fives all round.

How good is love? And a good marriage? The best.
I remember feeling so grown up when I got married but that was 16 years ago & I look back now & we were babies!!! 21 is young, like, really, REALLY young!!! But it was right, I knew I’d marry him when I was 17 & it’s still right now 🙂

Yes I’m pleased I didn’t get married at 21 but it was SO the wrong person! It’s so nice to hear of happy love stories, it makes me all misty-eyed haha. You guys are the best xo
