Offline Party Time

December 5, 2017 by Stacey Leave a Comment

Recently, we went away for our 10-year anniversary, and we stayed in a cute small town in a cute renovated church.

Check it:

And it was so great. We read, we ate, we drank wine, we napped, we explored the surrounding towns, we did jigsaw puzzles, and we just hung out, the four of us. Nothing to do and nowhere to to. Can fully recommend that kind of behaviour!

What we did do before we left though, was download some Netflix shows in case of emergency. There was no wi-fi where we were going, and while I was keen for an offline sabbatical, I’m also a: realistic; and b: organised.

So one thing to keep in mind when downloading your favourite show for travel is that the Netflix download function only works on tablets or other devices – not laptops. I found that out the hard way when I searched everywhere for the download symbol on the shows and found absolutely nothing at all. Thought I was going nuts.

Fortunately I figured it out (ok I had to Google it, I must have missed the memo!), and was downloading Stranger Things 2 in a jiffy. You never know when you’re not going to want to watch the Rugby League World Cup, amirite? Aaaaaaand I downloaded a couple of episodes of Miraculous because we were bringing our kids on our anniversary weekend and we might actually want some time to hang out just the two of us. A gal’s gotta be prepared.

Yes I do have a cat, why do you ask?

Look at that, a whole section telling you what’s available for download (not everything is), and what you’ve already downloaded. Pack your bags and your binge, and you’re ready for anything!

Gonna agree with the snacks and the hoodies bit… mostly for me. I like snacks. and hoodies.

We’re heading off over Christmas and I’m taking binge suggestions if you’ve got ’em! I’m still not recovered from the loss of Doc Martin, whyyyy do they remove stuff before I’ve finished watching? Also: I AM looking forward to The Crown season two this Friday. Will most likely download plenty of cooking shows and The Office, but let me know what you’ve loved lately and I’ll add it to the list!
