Oh hi. It’s getting cold. And while Mercury or whatever-the-fuck has been messing with my head lately, its been on the whole pretty rad around here. I may or may not be coming out of my creativity coma, and while the littlest fella has been under the weather, I’ve enjoyed the enforced couch time. I did have somewhat of an existential funk for a bit there about where I’m at with a few things (I blame Mercury and the coma), but I do seem have to them now and then. They always result in change, though, and I like change. I also like bread.
Thanks to all y’all who recommended the Lauke bread mixes, I’ve had two successful loaves. Finally! Get a load of salted butter on that baby and Mercury be damned.
A friend is doing some cool things with clothing design, and if you look carefully, you’ll even see a child of mine modelling their gear. Yes, that’s her real smile. It’s hilarious. And this tote is awesome – plastic-lined reinforced hessian and hand-printed in Melbourne. I’ve been using it as a handbag. Excellent for when someone’s damn water bottle spills!
We’ve been doing more and more structured art activities now that the girls are a bit older and have a bit more of an attention span. I chatted yesterday about some of the ones we’ve been using that were fun. Although Biggie very quickly outgrew the Q-Tip painting, sadly! I expect her to be CEO of Facebook within weeks. She’s exceptional at telling everyone what to do.
We’ve brought lots more greenery into the place, which is something I’ve always wanted to do but thought it prudent to wait until I moved. I had to leave behind my lemon and lime trees, and that was traumatic enough. Bigs helped me plant these ones and so far I’ve been pretty good about watering them. A surprise to us all.
Also finally got around to getting more glass jars for various bits and bobs. I think it looks so pretty and it makes me hungry all in one. My local supermarket sells them so I pick up a couple every time I shop. This is only half of the collection. What I wouldn’t give for a walk-in pantry like 50 Cent. He has six kitchens, I’m sure he could holla at a playa.
Pretty flowers, pretty morning light, pretty plants, pretty everything. I feel as though I’m fast losing any street cred I ever had. Dammit.
Ah the other thing I can’t get enough of is snuggled-up, warm, sleeping little guys. They would have to be the cutest thing ever.
What’s been happening at yours? (I love this from Foxslane. I love everything she does).
