Joining in with Meet Me at Mikes, not stealing broth.
Making : An infinity scarf, and a chunky afghan blanket
Cooking : bread and butter pudding out of sandwich crusts, minestrone soup, eggs on toast, enchiladas, shortbread, failed salted caramel macarons.
Drinking : Yorkshire tea, green tea, licorice tea
Reading : A Passionate Life by Ita Buttrose (part of my reading challenge) and Becoming the Parent you Want to Be. Plus various magazines. Oh, plus all The Saturday Paper editions that have been thrown onto my front stoop that I haven’t gotten to. I’m not even going to tell you how far behind I am, it’s embarrassing.
Wanting : A very old-school Breville jaffle maker. Not those newfangled ones, the ones that almost burn and turn the edges of jaffles into impenetrable fortresses.
Looking : At pictures of everybody’s newborns because apparently I need to have another baby?
Playing : The My Little Pony boardgame and pretending to be a patient while two very intense doctors check out everything that could possibly be wrong. Last week I had a crab in my ear.
Wasting : fruit that my kids won’t eat.
Sewing : Nothing.
Wishing : My electric blanket didn’t break within a week of purchase.
Enjoying : Daily yoga and meditation. Slipped there a bit what with houseguests and interstate travel, but it’s nice to be back on board.
Waiting : For brown rice to cook. Gotta be patient with that stuff.
Liking : Possibly biggie’s new school
Wondering : If it’s really the right choice even though it feels as though it is. Quite a decision.
Loving : Ages two and four. That light at the end of baby tunnel is in my face.
Hoping : That effort = reward.
Marvelling : Fussy eater number one ate a wrap yesterday with egg, lettuce, carrot, and cheese. The road is loooooong with maaaany a wiiiinding tuuuurn
Needing : To stop frowning/clenching my jaw.
Smelling : Errrrrr… brown rice. Admittedly not a pleasant smell.
Wearing : Metalicus leggings, Bohemian Traders stripy dress, Metalicus cardigan (not online anymore but I did buy this bloody thing and of course now it’s $50 off), everyday uberkates and a silk scarf that the girls were playing superman with before that I put on because I got unexpectedly cold. And Hello Kitty slippers. I’m a sight for sore eyes, I tell ya.
Following : All the people on Instagram who live in Maine.
Noticing : I slouch wayyyy too much.
Knowing : Only hard work will solve that problem.
Thinking : I’d like dessert right now.
Feeling : Full. But also kind of tired. And that familiar feeling of wanting to put things off until tomorrow.
Bookmarking : Poor Little Rich Women on New York Times site. Fascinating.
Opening : Jars of homemade enchilada sauce. It needs some tweaking but otherwise really, really good.
Giggling : My life in a Kanye West facial
Listening : This.
What’s news with you?
Homemade enchilada sauce? I’m in! Do share:) x A
I’ve linked to it here! they turned out really well, although could do with a little extra sugar. they were a bit tart. http://theveggiemama.com/2015/03/30-things-to-do-with-ripe-tomatoes/
I’m currently do the mama victory dance over the fact that I got kale-o-phobe number 1 to hoover 3 bowls full of kale pasta over the weekend. Yes I know it’s Tuesday, it’s a long lap. I earned it.
Fully earned it! Well done, mama!
If you find one of those jaffle makers tell me where, we’ve been looking for one for weeks! And a deep fryer, when did deep frying get banned?
We bought a big 5 litre deep fryer from Big W last year Lila & it does a great job. I can cook enough chips to feed us all in one hit! It’s a Sunbeam. I think.
Thanks Reannon I’ll have to go check BigW out!
Got this one!:http://www.breville.com.au/the-original-74tm.html
Also i bloody love deep fried. I deep fried tofu the other day. Bring back the boiling oil!
Oh that one is a bit nice!
Hate to tell ya lady but that cardi? It’s now $100 off!!! Ain’t that always the way?!
We were debating the jaffle iron versus the sandwich press over the weekend. WE have a sandwich press but it only cooks 2 at a time & a family of 6 eats a heap of toasties so we need something more. WE never settled on which was better….

That microwave thing? The struggle is real! And that is why I love reheating things on the stove. Old school Kanye, old school.
I clench my jaw too. I think I do it when I am up in the night with Lyddie to help me stay awake? I remember having a sore jaw when Charlie was a baby too.
And slouching. Ugh. I am entering that motherhood phase where I am constantly sitting on the floor slouching over my baby…I expect to emerge from this stage in approximately three years.
Especially since those babies left us with no core! Bloody ungrateful bastards.
I hope effort=reward too. It should if life is fair.
And it’s totally fair, right?!
I’m wearing Toy Story PJs – it’s hard not to have sweet dreams when you are actually IN Toy Story! I’m salivating over Enchilada Sauce – please say you’ll share the recipe soon!
hahah I think they would be rad! Except I’m not sure I’d dream sweetly if I was thinking of that broken Toy Story doll haha. and I linked to the recipe here: http://theveggiemama.com/2015/03/30-things-to-do-with-ripe-tomatoes/ so good!
