Where to stay in Bali - Villa Watu Sangging

it’s cold and rainy and this month last year I was headed to Bali, sooooo from where I’d rather be right now.

Joining in with Meet Me at Mikes, not stealing broth.

Making : Wrist warmers. Like gloves but for people who spend 9085384734% of their day typing.
Cooking : Much soup. A potato and parsley one from Jennifer Paterson, a spicy Thai pumpkin one for Lunchbox who’s just had his wisdom teeth out, minestrone, tortellini en brodo, an apple and rhubarb crumble, ricotta and zucchini fritters, wholemeal banana choc chip mini muffins, the usual yogurt and bread, and tonight will be pasta with hidden veggie sauce for the kids.
Drinking : Switched it up with a Dilmah tea because the shop was out of Yorkshire. Also drinking homemade kombucha, and lots of green and chamomile tea.
Reading : Spilling the Beans, by Clarissa Dickson Wright, The Bourne Identity, and The Good Gut. Next on my challenge list is The Thorn Birds.
Wanting : Thermals.
Looking : at Snapchat.
Playing : Go fish and Around the World pairs. Can you tell I have a five-year-old?!
Wasting : Not much at the moment, I’ve been v. impressive on the Effective Management of Leftovers front.
Sewing : Supposed to be some pyjamas but motivation: low.
Wishing : I still had an electric blanket that worked and that my vacuum cleaner didn’t snap MID VACUUM. So now I have to replace the fridge (everything in it is broken, it has no door shelves any more, and the thermostat is not right. Also, the freezer has never worked) AND the super expensive vacuum cleaner we only bought two years ago.
Enjoying : A house full of guests this week/end, I’m very much looking forward to it! I’ve been a right hermit these last few weeks, but I’ve needed it.
Waiting : For my headache to go away.
Liking : Biggie’s school is rad. This is love, folks! We’re past the like stage.
Wondering : How early I can go to bed tonight.
Loving : a three-year-old at gymnastics. It’s mega cute.
Hoping : That not giving up means where I want to be is just around the corner. Right? RIGHT?
Marvelling : Smalls voluntarily eating broccoli and carrot for the first time ever in her life. Baby steps and a fair few backward when we go forward, but I think we’re making some headway. Years of flat-out refusal. Years. And here we are.
Needing : To stop neglecting to do the things that keep the headaches at bay.
Smelling : Tea.
Wearing : Metalicus ponte pants, a One Love singlet, a Metalicus shirt and a Feather and Noise cardigan. Hello Kitty slippers.
Following : People on Instagram doing far more interesting things than me.
Noticing : Instagram has changed so much – it used to be where you’d go to get the real life, the scenes behind the blogs. Now it’s very pretty and pleasing to my eyeballs but now that y’all are moving over to Snapchat I’m welcoming you with open arms! Shit is funny over there, I’ve always enjoyed the LOLs. I’m Stacktron, if you want to play.
Knowing : I should actually be tidying the room I’m in.
Thinking : Of how much I still need to get done.
Feeling : Tired and headachey and bored with my actual self, what the fuck. Kudos to you if you’ve made it this far, I mean FOR REAL.
Bookmarking : These homemade flour tortillas, I’m still experimenting.
Opening : yet another packet of crackers.
Giggling : My life in a Kanye West facial
Listening : The Kinks, Pink Floyd, Desert Island Discs, still that bloody 90s boy band playlist (Ultra, why do you keep me coming back?!) and of course Sweet Teen Club, which is legitimately my favourite podcast regardless of whether it’s mine or not.

I’ve just got back from the mother country and that Yorkshire tea is the only tea my mother will drink, and she doesn’t even live in Yorkshire. Hope that headache goes away stat and how good are homemade tortillas? BEST!

Ha I don’t know why I’ve become so attached to it, but I really have. And I have never been to Yorkshire! thinking that needs to be amended…

yes homemade tortillas CAN be awesome but not so much the next day for lunchboxes. We’re getting there!

I’m having dandy chai right now – eg tea that is. In fact for the past week I’ve been vegan, and have 2 more weeks to go, it kind of suits me! Signed up for Jadah’s Fresh Start 21 – who the hell am I? I intend to out myself on the blog tomorrow. Could I be moving to the dark side? xx

Haha isn’t it funny how sometimes it takes something like this to get us to reassess our diet. I don’t mind a dandelion tea from time to time but I balk at doing anything for 21 days especially if it’s healthy! I am eagerly following you instead!

Yes we did – I think it was a crisis of confidence thing, she’s always been quite smart but feels a bit like she doesn’t know anything at school as they learn so much all day every day. I think she gets a bit overwhelmed and feels like she’s not very smart and in those moments probably needs her mum. But she’s right as rain now! Until something else comes up haha.

Your boy band playlist? Does it include Boyzone, Five, New Kids on the Block, N’Sync, Backstreet Boys and Westlife? Because if it is then I think I actually am your long lost mother.
