I’d like to say it was solely undertaken by my toddlers, but sadly it was not. One of them started eating the glue about four seconds in, and was dispatched with a bunch of pompoms to amuse herself with.
The other only wanted to spread the glue on the cardboard. I think she stuck on maybe two of the squares of coloured paper and one pompom. She spent the rest of the time painting her fingers with the glue. Never mind! I had a good time.
All I did was cut out a large ring from green cardboard. I made available some Christmas shapes that we coloured in the day before (from this Kidspot printable), some coloured paper squares, some balled-up crepe paper, some red and white pompoms, and my ever-present glitter. (I sprayed the finished product with clear gloss and sprinkled it on).
So for those of you looking for something different to do with your younger toddlers, you might like to try this. I thought at least one of them would enjoy sticking on the random bits, but hey, motherhood is full of surprises, no?
I hope your kids enjoy the glue as much as mine did.
