Vegetarian School Lunchbox Ideas on Instagram

Easy, doable Vegetarian School Lunchbox ideas

Guess who’s back? Back again… Stacey’s back… with veggie lunches.

Vegetarian School Lunch Box Ideas

Last year I thought it would be fun to share on Instagram the vegetarian school lunch ideas I sent Bigs off to school with every day because I LOVE seeing lunchbox items, and people often ask me what I pack, so figured why not?

Vegetarian School Lunch Box Ideas

I lasted until term 4, and I stopped for a number of reasons, but CAUTION TO THE WIND, PEOPLE, I am back in 2017 (in term 4, is that some kind of sorcery or wot).

Let’s not pretend I’ll ever post Smalls’s lunchbox because it’s the same thing every day. Vegemite sandwich. Banana. Crackers. Yogurt. The tears of a mother.

Related: Both are pretty fussy, Bigs will never eat a vegetable in her lunchbox, and won’t eat anything that looks like a dinner – so no pasta, rice, etc etc. Just assume they are a good idea, because I think they are, they just don’t work for us. So we’re a cornucopia of sandwiches, wraps, rolls, quesadillas and other bread-based funtimes.

Come hang over at Instagram, where I post the day’s lunches under #vmlunchbox if you’re interested. I’m thinking of starting a veggie school lunchbox ideas Facebook group too so we can share recipes… what are your thoughts? I’ve made one here, let’s make it a thing if you want!

Until then, catch ya in the school yard xx

My big guys lunches are pretty much the same thing daily & are trash but I’m trying hard with Blake & Sade’s is more adventurous so next year will be even better.
Blake’s rotation is – sambo/cheesy bun/pizza scroll, some kind protein, cracker/pretzel/pita chips & either dried fruit/mini muffin/cake. They still ha e a fruit platter for recess so that’s covered. It feels pretty boring but 99% of the time his lunchbox comes empty so that’s good.

Sounds pretty much exactly what we do here! It gets eaten and that’s all I care about!

I’m such a lunch box voyeur, I love looking at other peoples’! No kids here but my husband is as fussy as the most discerning toddler. I’m a huge fan of the yumboxes and am always up for new lunch ideas 🙂

How great are the Yumboxes! They were our first favourite. God I love food. I’m hungry.

Yay Im so excited for this. We have a yum box type lunchbox which I love….but i find myself putting the similar things each day a) because she only has four teeth which limits what she can eat and b) I don’t feed her anything much with sugar in it because im scared she’ll never sleep again

haha I put the same things in every day because despite my best efforts my children won’t eat a goddamn thing! (ps she will sleep. I felt that way with Smalls, I was nearly at breaking point. but she sleeps. Your girl will too x)

I’ve been finding our preschool lunch boxes a little hard at the moment. You can’t send anything containing nuts – did you know that Jatz contain nuts (we aren’t allowed to send Jatz), and we can’t send any form of baked good – even homemade, and we can’t send chips or pretzels… It’s basically, fruit, veggies, rice crackers, hommus, vegemite sandwiches, the odd yoghurt, pasta or sushi. Oh and I’m not meaning to sound like a bitchy Mum who wants to send nuts to school – I mean, I baked a gluten free, dairy free, egg free, nut free cake the other day to make sure everyone was able to eat it. I hate the thought of someone missing out.

You know what? I would really struggle with this. My kids don’t eat basically any of the things you just mentioned (and no I had no idea Jatz contained nuts! they love Jatz!), and with more than one kid going so often I absolutely would find it difficult. I of course don’t want anyone to die of anaphylaxis either, but I’d be sadder than an otter with no friends if I couldn’t send homemade baked goodies to school with my kids. Hang in there, I know if anyone can get around this situation it’d be you! <3

I can’t wait until I can pack a homemade baked good when they go to primary school (I am guessing that the primary school would be less strict). I mean, my baked goods are actually pretty healthy when it comes down to it. And the boys would smash some pikelets, or banana bread or some savoury muffins…oh and we pretty much go through 4 boxes of Jatz a week.
