So spring is finally here and I get antsy if there is sun and I have to be inside. Our balcony only gets sun until about lunchtime and I’ve felt like the day is wasted if I’m not in it, haha. You can tell I’ve missed my solar sister. She completes me.
Things have been busy and/or higgeldy piggeldy around here. I’ve not quite known whether I’m Arthur or Martha at times. Things appear to be going one way and then all of a sudden it’s the opposite. I need a holiday. Or a G&T.
What is it with this year? I feel like this year has been brutal for most. All sorts of shit has been going down. It’s like someone shook the globe and just watched all the glitter aka the fallout from people’s lives falling apart. I hope you’re happy, giant globe-shaker! I hope it has been entertaining. Now put that thing down gently. Thanks.
I’m still on The Thornbirds, and can I tell you I love it? I truly do, with my whole heart. It’s emotionally like a punch in the face but oh so well written. I’m so glad I’m reading it.
Eggplant parmigiana because I found out the secret is PECORINO cheese as well as a parmesan situation and for some reason, both the kids (mostly) eat it. Asparagus, crumpets by the bucketload, cherry tomatoes, risotto, and I’ve declared every Tuesday Taco Tuesday. I’m usually loath to recycle a dinner so often, and Friday night is already Pizza Night, but everyone eats the tacos (or a little bean and cheese burrito) and it’s healthy and nobody complains and hey IT’S TACOS AMIRITE.
For some reason I’ve gone totally 80s youth and have never watched so much television/eaten so much sugar. So I’m nearing the end of season 3 of Gilmore Girls (Jess I adore you but christ you’re a moody little prick), I’m 5 episodes in of Broadchurch (five stars from me), and I’ve also binged on Yes Minister, The Vicar of Dibley, The Mighty Boosh, and Blackadder. Oh and Frasier – we’ve started watching from the start and it’s one of the best decisions we’ve ever made.
Watching these while doing That’s Life crosswords (my aunt won a fridge and I want a fridge plus I really like word games) / crocheting (did you see I’m making the Roseanne afghan?) / Eating a 2L jar of assorted chocolate goodies but mostly the licorice bullets. For someone who isn’t a huge fan of chocolates OR lollies aka zero sweet tooth, I can assure you it’s been confusing.
Oh I can also assure you I watched Clerks again for the eleventy-billionth time and we recorded a podcast on it (much to Carly’s displeasure). It’ll be out… one day.
I have thoroughly cemented myself as an inner-city hipster now with the dragging out of the record player. You haven’t lived until you’ve been at my place on a Friday afternoon with a steady stream of Duran Duran segueing eventually into Billy Joel over dinner. Party time!
The girls have got some dresses because apparently they want them now? I wondered if this day would ever come. Five and a half appears to be the period in which one must be conscious of wearing “beautiful” things.
