WAHM spotlight: Petit Armoir {and free shipping for readers!}

February 26, 2013 by Stacey 9 Comments

I like to shine a spotlight on small businesses and work-at-home mums where I can. Sometimes they are advertisers, sometimes it’s just stuff I have found and want to share. Let’s high-five them, shall we?

Miriam from Petit Armoir was one of the very first advertisers on Veggie Mama when I opened spots a few months ago, and I was thrilled when I saw her pop up on the sidebar. Petit Armoir is an online store for beautiful children’s items from organic clothing to bed linen and even skin care products.

Miriam says her philosophy at Petit Armoir is “only to stock products that are ethically made and we prefer environmentally friendly”. What’s not to love? She originally began stocking chemical-free skincare and organic cotton because her daughter has eczema and asthma. Petit Armoir stocks Australia’s leading designer children’s brands such as Gaia Organic Cotton, Baobab, Oishi-M, Freshbaked, Chalk & Cheese, Skeanie, WALNUT Melbourne and many more.

I was sent this fantastic ball balloon cover, a portable chalkboard mat and some freezer pods to have a play with. The balloon cover is a HUGE hit here!

How cute are her little upturned hands getting ready to “catch”! We have taken the ball with us to hotels and other people’s houses, as it gives Abby something to play with that will not bounce and break all everybody’s goodies. It also can be carried flat with the balloon not blown up so it fits neatly into bags without taking up much space. Also it’s soft enough to roll with Pepper without knocking her out when Abby gets overexcited!

The chalkboard mat has also been a genius item to take out with us. We’ve used it in restaurants while waiting for lunch, and also to doctor’s offices and visiting grandma. It comes with a little duster and a couple of pieces of chalk that fit into a pocket on the edge so you don’t lose them. The whole thing rolls and ties up into a cylinder, which goes into my bag. As you can see, it’s quite popular with Abby who found it when I was otherwise occupied and she got stuck straight in.

Petit Armoir what I bought

Because I couldn’t help myself, I also bought a couple of little things for the girls – a shirt, Skeanie tights and knee-high socks and delicious little strawberry hair clips. {at the moment (February/March 2013), Petit Armoir has 50% off all summer stock and organic linens. Do not be wasting time, people!}

I have also made a little wishlist of things I’d like to get throughout the year, perhaps for birthdays and gifts. I think the fox cushion might be first cab off the rank…

So if you’re looking for something for your own little ones or as gifts (or even for yourself, I’ve got my eye on a bracelet!), can I suggest you support a mum supporting her family and pay Miriam a visit at Petit Armoir. And as a bonus, Miriam is offering FREE express shipping to readers when they enter the code “veggiemama” at the checkout! (don’t add the ” though!).

Thanks so much for supporting the sponsors who share here at Veggie Mama. We love you!

      Match made in heaven, yeah?! I like to buy a size up for the next season! Plus it’s always warm here, so summer stuff lasts ages.

      And the service is excellent. I received my little parcel today and there was a handwritten note! They didn’t even know I was going to buy anything 🙂
