Your favourite boy bands and their favourite foods

May 3, 2016 by Stacey 2 Comments

Welcome to 90s boy band podcast episode day! I have to say, it’s one I’ve been looking forward to for quite some time.

I thought I’d celebrate it here on VM today by discussing food. Namely, boy band members favourite foods, recipes, and potato-related car accidents. You in>

Backstreet Boys

Nick: Cheese pizza, McDonald’s

AJ: McDonald’s

Kevin: Mom’s home cooking

Brian: mac and cheese

Howie: Mom’s home cooking or “oriental food”

Which is about the most American thing I’ve ever read. If you’re so inclined, you can even take a quiz about BSB favourite food. Go on, you know you want to.

Or why not just watch them telling us themselves?

Boyz II Men

pizza.

And Wendy’s pretzel cheeseburgers.

ALSO HOW HAVE I MISSED THIS, IT’S INCREDIBLE.

Please, watch it.

N*SYNC

Justin: Cereal or pasta BUT HOLD UP, HIS FAVOURITE DRINK IS MILK. That’s so Sweet Teen Club.

Lance: French Toast, Pizza

JC: Chinese

Joey: Italian

Chris: Tacos and chocolate ice cream (I hope together)

Or you could make for yourself Justin Timberlake’s Granny Sadie’s Pecan Pie or eat at his Southern Hospitality restaurant.

East 17

It sounds like baked potatoes with tuna, cheese and mayonnaise… were… a favourite of Brian’s.

Harvey blames potatoes for bizarre car accident

He fractured his pelvis in seven places, broke his ribs, punctured his lungs and was in a coma for three weeks after his own car he was driving ran him over. Just let that sink in for a bit.

Then he apparently sang about it.

Take That

Robbie’s favourite foods are/were: sushi and sashimi and his mum’s toasted tuna, onion and salad cream sandwiches. They sound fucking amazing.

Boyzone

Stephen: Chicken curry

Ronan: Pasta

Shane: Italian, steaks, pizza, McDonald’s

The other two… ah who cares

98 Degrees

Nick and Drew have a sports-themed bar together where you can get all manner of sporty snacks. Could defs go a platter of zucchini frites.

If you’re more interested in what they eat at home, Nick’s wife Vanessa has a blog and talks about food and entertaining.

Westlife

Shane: My mum’s cooking, steak, chips, lasagne, cornflakes and spaghetti

Kian: Steak and chips

Mark: Steak and chips, Irish stew, chicken

Brian: Japanese (please can you just look at this website it’s so satisfactory)

Nicky: Mum’s cooking, Sunday dinner, Japanese

Hanson

Zac: Loves all kinds of food (must be a youngest child thing)

Taylor: his mom’s brownies, fish, burritos, giant steaks, chicken, cheeseburgers with the works. Also tiramisu, burrata (YEAH BOY!) and risotto

Isaac: pasta

Apparently an episode of Cupcake Wars featured the boys as judges. You too can make Creme Brulee Cupcakes

WAIT HOLD UP THERE IS A BEER CALLED Mmmhops, brewed by Taylor. Amazing.

So please, allow Carly and I talking about 90s boy bands to caress your ears (with a “brief” sidetrack into silverchair. I know you’ll forgive me).

You can also find the show notes here, with links to everything we mention in the podcast. Yes, the videos too.

My favourite 90’s boy band was Noise Addict…. I wasn’t much for N’Sync.

Yeah to be completely fair I think my favourite band that consisted of all boys in the 90s would have been Metallica but they didn’t fit the parameters. I still managed to talk about silverchair for a good 10 minutes on the podcast! I know my boy bands but I can’t say I cared in the 90s overmuch! Not when Daniel Johns had all that haiiiiirrrrrrr
