A birthday for me and a skincare giveaway for you! {ended}

April 24, 2013 by Stacey 47 Comments

Thank you to everyone who entered – our winner is Lisa McKenzie! Congrats Lisa, and I am sure you’ll find Cosima perfect on your sensitive skin.

cosima-skincare-giveaway

Hello there! Have a birthday present, won’t you? Celebrating, and all that.

Today I’m 33. If I don’t look it, then it might have something to do with me smothering my face in this wonderful organic, all-natural skincare line from Cosima. Or I’m just really lucky, I don’t know. I have two kids, spent my life in the sun, and smoked and drank like the rebel I was all through my early 20s. Sleep? I’ll sleep when I’m dead, I said. So thanks to that brilliant mindset, I take care of my face now a little more than I did before, lest I look like a leather bag or Joan Rivers by the time I’m 70.

Except remembering to take my makeup off before bed. Tell me your secrets, people, I just can’t seem to do it!

I have been using Cosima for the whole of this year, when I was sent some as part of an advertising package for the blog. I have definitely noticed a difference in both the clarity and the colour of my skin (now I sound like a diamond) and my skin is soft, which is a bonus. The foaming cleanser even smells like lemon meringue pie!

What I have been using is what you will receive in the birthday package. Excited? Me too! Let’s find out what you get:

Replenishing Day Cream: A rich non greasy face cream full of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants to nourish and protect your skin. This cream will fight the signs of premature ageing giving your skin a healthy glow. Perfect for use under make up. Daily UVA & DNA Defence.

Purely Radiant Elixir (balancing): Concentrated blend of balancing oils with Acai and Goji berry patented,  certified organic dehydrasome delivery system to help skin regain a younger, more radiant look. Organic Anti Acne Active system from the Amazon rainforest improves oily skin health, reduces the effect of acne, regulates the balance between moisturising and oil production. Anti-inflammatory. Formulated all skin types especially acne prone, oily, combintion and sensitive.

Flawless Active Enzyme Peel: A concentrated blend of fruit enzymes, natural salicylic acid from Willow Bark, potent antioxidants and resveratrol combine to deliver a professional grade peel at home. This powerful formulation brightens and lightens your skin, stimulates cell growth, exfoliates, increases firmness and tone, reduces fine lines and wrinkles to reveal a visibly smoother more refined complexion.

Foaming Cleanser (balancing):  A balancing soap free face wash suitable for normal, oily, combination acne prone and problem skin types. Use to remove make up, dirt and unclog your pores. It naturally and gently clears the skin of impurities leaving the skin feeling fresh, invigorated and clean.

Fun, huh?! Cosima skin care is a unique range of advanced organic Cosmeceutical products manufactured in Australia. Each ingredient has been carefully selected and researched for their anti-ageing, skin enhancing properties and nutrients, and they don’t contain fillers.

There are:

  • NO Sodium Lauryl Sulphate
  • NO Mineral Oils
  • NO Petroleum
  • NO Artificial Fragrances
  • NO Artificial Colours
  • NO Harmful Detergents
  • NO Animal Derivatives
  • NO Parabens
  • NO Harmful Chemicals
  • NO Propylene Glycol
  • NOT Tested on Animals
  • Recyclable Packaging

So if that sounds like something you’re into, then please leave a comment below telling me why you need this! Did you smoke and drink in your 20s too? Do you put everyone else first and your face last? Does ANYONE GET ANY SLEEP?!

One winner will be chosen and will receive the abovementioned products, totalling $198. Contest ends Wednesday May 1 at 5pm EST and the winner will be announced on this post and notified by email. This is a game of skill.

I genuinely like these products – I wasn’t paid to say this at all! The lovely Angela from Cosima bought an ad and sent me some product to try. I liked it so much she offered some for a giveaway. All opinions are my own. As usual!

I need these products because since my knee replacement 2 years ago I have become very sensitive to lots of things(lots of different metals in my leg 1/3 of it is not real) I can only use organic or non perfumed and no artificial colours etc etc. I have to be very careful of what I put on my face or my skin throws a tantrum!! a big one, with welts and dry skin and itching.
So this looks like a winner to me.I have always looked after my skin since about age 13 when my Mum told me to wear ponds cream.
Veggie Mama you do not look 33 I am not sucking up either just stating a fact you are a Babe, enjoy your pretty face while it lasts, once you hit your 40s the wrinkles creep up on you.Happy Birthday gorgeous girl!

I’m a little but ashamed to confess, but yes I used to be a smoker (most people in France are), I stopped about 5 years ago, I don’t miss it all! I have also always liked drinking but in moderation (well almost always!). I do get good sleep (I don’t have kids yet) and try to eat a healthy diet. I’ve switched to organic and natural skincare/personal care products about 2.5 years ago. Skin is your largest organ and deserves to be ‘fed’ in a healthy way too!

No sleep around here my only skin tip is if you have dark circles DITCH THE DAIRY mine have almost completely vanished since I did and only flare up when I eat cheese / chocolate!

Hola for the babies of 1980!

I was in the navy in my 20’s….. All I did was drink, smoke and not sleep! Now I have two babies (or not, they are 9 and 3, but will always be my babies) and a husband who has just been deployed for 6 months. A little me time would be just wonderful.

I just told my Mum today that if she wanted to take a holiday with me, I would pack her bags. Under my eyes. It’s my 30th birthday year, and I’m sure my 1 year old has aged me + 10. Love his guts, but don’t want to actually look like guts. Help!

Chronic illness and other problems have taken their toll and that’s reflected in my complexion….it would really benefit from the kick start these products would give it and I would get a boost every time I looked in the mirror and might even like what I saw for a change!

I am 33 too. I look 50. I blame kids, booze, sugar and lots of other fun shit. I can’t use most stuff because my face inevitably breaks out into a MOST attractive rash. I’m so lucky.

I am turning 36 on Sunday and look every bit of it, my lack of beauty routine in my 20s has left me with wrinkly sun damaged skin – similar to that of a elephants rear end! And as a busy mum with 2 children I don’t have the time or money to shop around for great skincare products. These products sound perfect for me.

oh goodness, sleep, what’s that??? I’ve had one 8 hour night in the past 6 1/2 years! Two adorable little cherubs, now 6 and 4, complete with sleep disorders from day dot…oh, and an overweight hubby that thinks getting out of bed at night to help me is some sort of Olympic event (that he’s not qualified to participate in…)…and that snoring like a freight train is “ok”…’cause it doesn’t wake him up – argh! I used to have such good skin, but after these last few years I’m really looking my age unfortunately 🙁 I need a miracle – and I think you have it!)

    And – HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
“Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, your skin is now gorgeous….make mine like that too” 😉 please…xxxx (See how tired….I make up silly jingles!) x

In my 20’s I drank a little bit when on port visits in the Navy. Last year I turned 30 and have since noticed my skin is not what it used to be. I very rarely wear makeup (much to my mothers disgust!) and only use a tiny bit of moisturiser each morning. I think its time to explore some options, (nasties and chemical free of course!), and with full time uni, 2 kids and all of life’s stuff, my skin could do with some pampering! thankyou, and I wish you a wonderful birthday (with a little bit of cake to celebrate!) 🙂

Oh Happy Birthday and how lovely of you to celebrate by spoiling one of us! I spent my last years tax refund on Cosmia and my skin has been very depressed since my products ran out in Jan. My sensitive dermatitis prone face has never responded better than when using this brand and it truly would be the best blessing to spoil myself again if I was to win!

I work outside all day on the farm and my skin is constantly being weathered by sun, humidity, cold and the wind. Nothing I’ve tried seems to sooth my skin as it is very, very sensitive and always feels sore. Perfumes and sunscreen irritate my skin and even though I am always trying ‘natural’ or ‘gentle’ products, they never seem effective. I would love to try Cosima.

I am trying to teach my daughter about looking after her skin. I am happy to pay for her to have organic products on her face rather than introducing her to the cheap chemical laden stuff from the supermarket. Rather than say what I’ve done to abuse it over the years. I’d rather say that by not smoking, or drinking, or eating meat and by drinking lots of green tea and exercising regularly, I’ve been kind to my skin. Organic skincare is the only way to go.

I’m nearly your age too Stacey! Well, I’ll be 32 next months, whatevs 🙂
I’m generally lucky with my skin, but spent much of my 20’s doing shift work, effectively having a messed up sleep/ eat/ look after one’s self routine or lack thereof. Since I (sort of) have my life a bit more sorted, my skin has improved, but I notice the smallest things show up on my skin instantly – stress, dehydration, too much sugar etc. I would love a new routine to help me maintain this skin o’mine so I can still pretend I’m 24 for the next 5 years!
Happy Birthday!! Hope you’re having an ace time up north x

I will be turning 41 this year and have no sign of becoming any less fat in the near future therefore I would love the slim figure compensation birthday kit on your page…thanks to Cosima for the direction here 🙂 (BTW barely drink, don’t smoke, sleep lots)

I need this stuff in my life as stress, hormones and eating too much crap have started to show on my nearly 40 year old face and I currently look like a spotty teenager which is not a good look! I’ve spent way too much money on visiting a naturopath and buying all the various pills and potions that are going to get me back on track from the inside, but I now need some lovely organic skincare to help with the outside.

Hi Stacey. At present my skincare routine consists of being the household dictator of sunblock and moisturizer with my kids. I will absolutely NOT let them suffer the skin damage that I have been not-so-blessed with from growing up in this beautiful land downunder. It’s too late for me…but a little radiant elixir and flawless active enzymes would not go astray! xxxx

I love to have this natural skincare beauty set. I am 40, not smoking, drink little and fair skin exposed to sun quite often due to enjoy fishing and taking care of the garden. Our extended family emphasis on improving our living with all natural products, no chemical. We start from making fresh vegetable juice to drink in the morning. My husband’s daughter orgainised an Open Garden event with emphasis on orgainic gardening, which was a big success with 400+ visitors and now looking for natural suppliers of making organic shampoo and laundry cleaning products. This natural orgainic skin care products would be perfect for our skin. Happy Birthday and thanks for sharing!

I am in dire need of some all natural goodness for my face. It’s looking worse than a hormone ridden teenager who works at KFC. In additon to my two children who think sleep is for the weak (me! I’m the weak! Gimme sleep!), I just passed my driving test today (awesome, but stress x174048168495), am currently studying full time whilst mothering those two non-sleeping hellions, two days a week of prac at school (no moolah), and a husband who works away!
